From "Train Collectors Quarterly" Fall 1981

The Train Collectors Quarterly Fall 1981 VOL. 27, NO. 5

Article titled American Flyer Part 3 by Joseph Kotil starts on page 18.

The article includes a copy of a Merchandising Services flyer for American Flyer Mfg. Co.

The flyer cover is shown here with a Train Tower Display photo and description.

An excerpt from the article states, [For the collector who says "I don't have room for a layout", American Flyer has the answer -- the train tower display available in "O" or Wide gauge. Just picture your "O" gauge new Potomac or Wide gauge Golden State crossing the upper trestle and gaining speed heading into the first turn. I believe many of my trains were used on one of these tower layouts. A tower layout might be good item for Lionel to use in a limited edition set! Picture the "Dukes of Hazzard" whiskey train with Boss Hogg gold bullion car -- exploding sheriff car -- General Lee launching car--.]

Article from the "NOR-CAL EXPRESS

This article is from the Northern California Division of the Train Collectors
Association dated September 2008 (page 1).

Nor-Cal member Pete White shows off his O-gauge “Double Helix.”
Pete reports that this was probably constructed in the 40’s or 50’s for a
department store or train shop. It uses regular 31” radius curved
track. Pete obtained this from Nor-Cal member Tom Gibson about two
years ago. Pete showed this at the May 24 meet in Sacramento.
